I made a Photoshop file that allows you to use a curves layer. What you do is open your image in Photoshop and change to black and white (desaturate is the fastest way), then open this file I've provided (it's a .PSD) and drag the CURVES LAYER (the top layer above the background. Make sure you have a default workspace open [Window-->Workspace-->Default Workspace]) onto the picture you opened.
Play with the opacities, layers, and blending modes. You can create some really cool stuff if you just get creative. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
